Eagles vs Saints

I could have titled this post as "How I Caused The Eagles To Lose To The Saints"... I was working and I took my lunch break at 15:00. I started watching just in time to see the Saints get their last possession of the ball and use up 8 minutes to get 3 points and win the game. Most of my Eagles fan friends say I'm not a jinx, but 2 of my friends did remind me that when the Eagles played the Giants that New York started turning things around when I started watching that game.... So I have now taken a vow that I will either watch all of the game start to finish or not at all...

Ok, the Eagles cannot win them all. The Saints did a great job of continually getting first downs and running down the clock. I saw on ESPN Primetime that McNabb had a great 3rd quarter. All i can say about the Philly defense is that I thought could have cut the Saints drive short if they had the right number of players on the field. Having that sack of Bree get tossed helped that Saints alot.....

Random Thoughts: Mike Tyson

I was watching Scarborough Country and saw Mike Tyson talking about sparring with women. I'm not talking about verbal sparring either... WTF!!! Doesn't he remember being found guilty and serving time in prison for raping a woman? I used to think Tyson was a great but troubled fighter. That was before he bit Holyfield's ear off. Instead of getting back in the ring, he needs to get into some intensive therapy...

Eagles vs Cowboys

YAY!!!! My Eagles won against the Cowboys; 38-24.

It wasn't a pretty game. There were alot of turnovers on both sides. I was sooo happy when Lito Shepard intercepted Bledsoe's pass and ran it back 102 yards for a touchdown!!! I thought it was a really good game. I was disappointed in the first quarter when the Eagles only scored 3 points when they got the ball from a turnover. I was happy overall with how the Philly defense and offense played. They really made things difficult for Bledsoe the whole game.

I waited all game long for one of the Eagles defensive backs to channel Ronnie Lott and just hit T. O. hard and make him see stars. T. O. is a narcissistic, immature egomaniac. He's a good wide-receiver, but he's not a team player nor is he a leader; not at all. I find it hard to take anything he says seriously. Whatever problems or criticisms he has with one of his team members, he's wrong to say it in the media. I cannot respect someone like that.

McNabb is a great quarterback. I do see him as a John Elway like quarterback. McNabb is a LEADER. He makes adjustments when they're needed. For example, in the Green Bay game, when the running game was shaky, McNabb ran the ball at key moments and ended up scoring 2 rushing TDs. McNabb doesn't get flustered in the pocket when there's defensive pressure. McNabb is one of the clutch quarterbacks in the game now. McNabb played hurt all season long last year. He's a tough guy in my book! Despite all the drama with Owens the past few years, McNabb showed what kind of person he is when he contacted Owens after he heard about the alleged suicide atempt and inquired how Owens was doing.... if he was ok.
The Cowboys really do need to look into getting another quarterback. Drew Bledsoe sucks!!! He played a bad game regardless of the intense pressure the Eagles defense put on him. ESPN is reporting that Parsells isn't going to start Romo in the Cowboys next game. That's a mistake....

Phenomenal Woman

My blog title comes from a poem by Maya Angelou, and here it is....

PHENOMENAL WOMAN

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
The palm of my hand,
The need of my care.
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
